Most homes here are Victorian and Edwardian terraces and semi-detached houses, which suit rear and L-shaped dormer lofts, mansards and side-return or wraparound kitchen extensions.
Each council has its own conservation areas and guidance. Lambeth explains that houses in its conservation areas have no permitted development rights for roof or side extensions, while Southwark has detailed guidance for roof extensions in the Dulwich area. Some Dulwich homes also need the Dulwich Estate's consent. We check the rules for your address before any drawings are done.
How we work
Our in-house team does the measured survey, drawings and the planning or permitted-development application through Plan It, then manages the build with a single project lead. Typical build times: rear dormer 10–12 weeks, L-shaped dormer 12–14 weeks, mansard 12–16 weeks, rear extension 12–16 weeks.
